Week Ending 05/05/24

Another solid week with the construction tech classes.

A couple of visitors stopped by this week and talked with the classes. Tyler Benson with Pioneer Material brought two dozen great donuts, which were a big hit with the students and were finished off in short order. Hunter Marsh with Vantia Hardwood floors also visited while dropping off the flooring for the Tiny Home.

Planning is underway for the semester-end party to celebrate the completion of the Tiny Home with the Senior class students. May 17 is the last day of classes for the Seniors, and Oakley wants to have a celebration party for the students on that date. Carolanne will be reaching out to Matt Renoux with Channel 9 News and Summit Daily for a follow-up to their December media coverage of the Tiny Home. The event will be between 11:30 am to 1:30 pm with food available at noon and will be catered. If you haven't seen the Tiny Home, please stop by; it's a great time to show support for the students and tour the Home. Even if you have already seen it, stop by anyway.

The Tiny Home is on schedule, and if all goes as planned, it will be finished by May 17.

Schedule update: Cabinets were installed this past week, along with completed painting, and the shower walls and pan were installed. See pictures below.

This coming week, the floor is scheduled to be installed along with the quartz countertops, and all lighting fixtures, switches, and plugs are to be completed by the end of the week, along with the installation of electric power to the Tiny Home. Light fixtures were donated by Inside Source.

We are about 2 furlongs from the finish line and closing fast. A great crew of volunteers and students are working hard to make this happen. (Schedule was originally 5/27, now 5/17).
